1. What is WebPage WorkShop?

WebPage WorkShop is a stream-lined text editor specificly designed to aid in creating web pages.

2. Who are the indended users?

The intended users of WebPage WorkShop are people with an understanding of HTML that don't want the bloated overhead of a "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) editor. The knowledge level of a user could range from someone with little experience with HTML to advanced web designers. Anyone that wants complete control over their website's code is a potential user.

3. What kinds of files can I edit?

WebPage WorkShop can be used to edit any text file. The files it was specificly designed to edit are: HTML, Perl, PHP, ASP, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, XML and XSL. Context and keyword color coding is available for all of these file types. This makes reading and editing the files easier because you can tell at a glance what a particular piece of text is.

4. Can I preview my HTML files without launching a browser?

WebPage WorkShop has a built in "preview" panel that allows you to preview any HTML based file that does not require a special server side parser (i.e. PHP and ASP code would not be processed in the previewer).

5. What are the advantages of "project mode" over "single file mode"?

Although both modes allow you to have several files open at one time, project mode provides a list of all files in the project to allow quicker access to those files. Project mode also provides features, such as a "Find In Files" (which allows you to search for keywords in all files in a project) and a customizable "new document" template that are not available in single file mode.

6. How can I add HTML tags to my files?

HTML tags can be added in a number of ways. First of all, you can manually type in any tag you need. The second, and more frequently used, method is to use one of the many buttons on the "HTML Palette". These buttons provide you with the most common HTML tags used in your website. There is also a page on the HTML palette that allows you to configure up to ten customizable HTML buttons. These custom buttons can contain any text (not just HTML tags) and offer a flexible array of options. The third way to add HTML to your file is to use one of the built-in wizards. There are easy to use wizards for creating tables, forms and frame sets.
